The Children’s Cabinet
The Children’s Cabinet was founded in 1985 with a clear mission: to keep children safe and families together by providing a wide range of services at no cost to youth and their families.
It began when community leaders, including public officials, judges, educators, and social service directors, came together to create a cooperative, public-private approach to address unmet needs in Washoe County.
Since then, the organization has grown to serve more than 15,000 families annually across Nevada, including Reno, Carson City, Las Vegas, and Elko, by bringing diverse groups together to develop innovative solutions for children’s and family well-being.
